Dr. Sam Shanmugham, MD


• Dr. Sam is board certified by both the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine.

 

• He is also certified in Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology by the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.



• Dr. Sam has been in private practice with Florida Neurology since 1988.


• He graduated in 1981 from Coimbatore Medical College in South India and he went on to complete his neurology residency at University of Illinois, Chicago.


• In 1988 he earned his fellowship in Electromyography and Neuromuscular Disease at University of Miami in Miami, Florida.


• Dr. Sam has served as the Chief of Medicine as well on the Board of Directors for Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. He was the Director of Sleep Medicine at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares and currently serves in the same position at Waterman Sleep Lab, Inc. in Mount Dora. In 2012, Florida Hospital Waterman honored Dr. Sam with the Compassionate Physician Award.  


• He is an associate professor at University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine, a member of the American Academy of Neurology, and an active constituent of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.

Fun Fact: Dr. Sam enjoys traveling in his time off and likes to read about history and archaeology! One of his favorite historical figures is Alexander the Great.

Dr. Elias Gizaw, MD


• Dr. Gizaw is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.


• He has been in private practice with Florida Neurology since 1995.


• He graduated in 1986 from Volgograd State Medical Institute in Volgograd, Russia.

• He completed his neurology residency at New York State University and in 1993 was awarded the honor of Chief Resident at the Northport VA Medical Center in New York.


• Dr. Gizaw earned his fellowship in Cerebrovascular Disease in 1995 from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida.


• He is also an active member of the American Academy of Neurology as well as the Ethio-American Doctors Group.

Fun Fact: Dr. Gizaw likes to go boating with his family whenever he has time off and he particularly enjoys deep-sea fishing!

Dr. Nitesh Shekhadia, MD


• Dr. Shekhadia is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.


• He has been in private practice with Florida Neurology since 2003.


• He graduated in 1991 from M.P. Shah Medical College in Gujurat, India.


• He completed his neurology residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark and in 2002 was awarded the designation of Chief Resident.  


• In 2003 Dr. Shekhadia earned his fellowship in Pain and Palliative Care Management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute in New York City.


• He is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology and an active constituent of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.

Fun Fact: Dr. Shekhadia enjoys flying kites and participates in the annual kite festival in Kissimmee with his kids!

Dr. Ramit Panara, MD


• Dr. Panara is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He also has an additional board certification in Clinical Neurophysiology.


• Dr. Panara has been in private practice with Florida Neurology since 2013.




• He graduated in 2004 from M.P. Shah Medical College in Gujurat, India. In 2002, during his time as a medical student, he was awarded Student of the Year for his work in pediatrics.


• He completed his neurology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and in 2012 he earned the accolade of Chief Resident.   


• In 2013 Dr. Panara completed his fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Ohio State University in Columbus.


• He is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology.

Fun Fact: Dr. Panara enjoys watching and playing cricket! He plays on the Seminole Shers cricket team and knows all kind of cricket stats.  

Bob Rahe, PA-C


• Bob is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.


• He has been in private practice with Florida Neurology since 2010.


• Bob has two bachelor’s degrees. He earned his first in 1997 from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio where he graduated with his Bachelor of Education.

• In 2008, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida. During his time at UCF he earned a place on the President’s List and also spent time working in the Molecular Neuroscience Laboratory.


• Bob completed his Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010 at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.    


• While completing his degrees, Bob also spent time as an aquatics coach for the Special Olympics and was a patient companion at Florida Hospital South.  

Fun Fact: When Bob has free time that he isn’t spending with his kids, he enjoys playing the acoustic guitar!
